Contacts with teachers:

Our school is a welcoming school. Parents have access to the school before and after classes. However, you are kindly requested not to petition teachers who are in charge of children during their supervision duties at the schoolyard or in their classroom. To organise a meeting, please put a note for the teacher in your child’s class agenda to request an appointment.

Class hours:

From 8h20 until 12h00 (primary school); from 8h50 until 12h00 (kindergarten)
From 13h25 until 15h30 (14h30 on Fridays)

School opening hours:

School gates are open:
  • from 7h30 until 9h00, in the morning
  • from 12h00 until 12h10 and from 13h10 until 13h30, at noon
  • from 15h30 until 15h45 (from 14h30 until 14h45 on Friday) after classes.
  • NB: On Fridays, after-school care (‘garderie’) is free from 14h30 until 15h30
To collect your child during after-school hours, you are requested to press the doorbell ‘garderie’.

Delays and absences:

Delays
In primary school: parents are to ensure that their child is present at 8h20 in the morning and at 13h25 in the afternoon (in case the child leaves the school for lunch).
In case of delay, the child or the parent(s) must present themselves(s) at the Secretariat before entering the classroom. Any delay requires a justification signed by the parents.
After ten delays, children are required to stay longer at school during one hour, in order to catch up with school work. 
In kindergarten: parents guide their child into the classroom between 8h30 and 8h50 (if the child is not staying in the pre-school care between 7h30 and 8h30). The doors of the school close at 9h00 sharp. Parents are not allowed to bring their child to school after 9h00. In case of unforeseen circumstances of an exceptional nature, parents must alert the school to be allowed to access the school after 9h00.

In case of absence:
The Secretariat needs to be informed between 8h and 9h in the morning of any impeding absence.
In primary school, any absence longer than three days needs to be justified by a medical certificate.

Clothing:

Parents are requested to avoid eccentric or provocative clothing. A correct outfit is required.
A name tag in all clothing and personal belongings (school and gym bags, lunch boxes, …) is encouraged, since many clothes and other belongings linger around in school.
The general rules of the school can be found in the class agenda of your child.

Class agenda:

This is an important communication tool. We request to check it and sign it every day.

Evaluations in primary school:

Reports: All-Saints – January – April – June
The first (All-Saints) and the last (June) report will be handed over to the parents during a teacher’s appointment.

Reminder: 

Please respect the traffic signs in front of the school. 
These traffic signs indicate that you are not allowed to station your car in front of the school between 7h00 and 9h00 from Monday to Friday, except for depositing your child and then leaving immediately. A supervision is organised by the teachers and guards of the commune to help your children enter the school. Outside those hours, toll is being charged by the commune for parking in that zone around school. Police can issue a parking ticket or remove your car in case of non-respect of the traffic signs in front of the school.
Please be reminded that it is also prohibited to cross the street in front of the school outside the dedicated pedestrian crossings that are situated at the traffic lights in front of the secondary school and in front of the stairs of the Parc du Cinquantennaire. Please lead by example, for your children’s safety!

Cameras

Since August, for security reasons, the school has been equipped with surveillance cameras with registration, in accordance with the applicable legislation on surveillance cameras.

Dear parents,
This document aims at giving you a complete overview concerning the functioning of the hot meals system at school.
This year, you can enroll your child for hot meals for a specific day of the week, but per trimester. A menu will be at your disposal for information in the corridor of the Secretariat or on the school’s website: http://saint-stanislas.blogspot.be.
Meals will be served from Thursday 6 September until Friday 21 December 2018.
(School holidays and pedagogic days for the teachers have not been counted)
The following rules need to be respected:
It is clearly established that, in case of definitive cancellation of all further meals during the trimester, no reimbursement will be made for the ongoing trimester; you are therefore committing to paying the meals from September to December (except in case of extended absence because of illness, supported by a medical certificate).
In case the bill is not paid before 16 September 2018, we will annul all meals without possibility to re-order.
In case of absence, the meals can be cancelled only in case of:
  •   Absence for at least two days;
  •   Having informed the Secretariat before 9h the day before.
    The reimbursement of those cancelled meals will be made in June, on written request to the Secretariat at the latest on 20 June 2018, with the indication of the price dates for which meals had been cancelled. Those dates need to correspond to the dates communicated by phone.
    You will understand that it is important that the procedure is strictly respected in order for the service to be optimal.

For organizational reasons, of a security nature but also guided by a concern of educating children into autonomy, we permit pupils of the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th year of primary school to leave the school at 12h and at 15h.
It is obvious that this possibility is only valid with your authorization.

School year 2018-2019
Information concerning enrolment for the ‘garderie’ (after-school care)
The lunchtime supervision and after-school care (‘garderie’) are extracurricular services for a fee proposed by the school to the parents. Those services are being organised for parents who work and cannot pick up their child during lunchtime or immediately after class hours (Wednesday at 12h, other days at 15h30).
Attention: children who do not stay at the garderie on Wednesdays cannot eat their lunch (brought from home) at school.
Children with an authorization to leave the school (‘carte de sortie’) cannot stay at the garderie and must leave the school at 15h30 when the school gates are opened.
Attention: in case of absence of your child, their cannot be a reimbursement of the garderie fees, since those are calculated as a yearly lump sum to be paid at once or in two or three installments, according to the parents’ choice.
In the course of March, a certificate for the Belgian tax authorities will be made available for the fees of the garderie of the preceding year; this certificate is valid only for the garderie fees and not for the hot meal fees.
In case your child takes the hot meals offered at school, supervision during lunchtime is free.
Tariff:
Free: morning garderie (7h30 until 8h30) and Friday from 14h30 until 15h30.
Lunchtime (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday): 204 € for the entire year (51 € per day for the

entire year)
Wednesday lunchtime + afternoon: 171 € for the entire year

Evening (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday): 228 € for the entire year (57 € per day for the entire year)
Those services can be paid in two or three installments, according to your preference.
